opa d boot camp

 gulf shores edition!

back in 2018, opa d boot camp was spearheaded as sort of a one time thing. however, the kids loved it so much that it has made an appearance every reunion since (not yet posted to the archives from christmas 2019 is opa d boot camp: polar edition) and is showing no signs of slowing down.

for this latest installment, we tried something new where instead of doing the whole slew of activities in one day, a different opa d bootcamp tactical mission and prize was set up for each day, culminating in the fan favorite treasure hunt and dig.

fourteenth year

 

on saturday, our biggest little turned fourteen years old. summer is kind and responsible. smart and thoughtful and resilient. she is a safe space for her friends and fiercely devoted. she believes the best in people and wants everyone to succeed. 

constantly thinking of others, summer has been breaking her treats in half to share since she's been able to walk. summer loves to be comfortable and snuggly and cozy. she loves warm things and soft things and loud music. she knows all the words to all the songs and loves to read while listening to music. 

she's a prolific writer and a ravenous reader, but it's math and science that have her heart. she is one of three girls on the middle school robotics team and has her eye set on studying computer science in the future.

happy birthday, beauty! may you continue to glide through the world on those tippy, tip toes and carve out life's path that you want for yourself, looking out for everyone else along the way.
